This is a beautiful piece of craftmanship from a time when our country/world was transitioning from the Great Depression to a time of war. This over-sized wood frame is hand carved with incredible detail by a French Sculpter. It is 80+ years old and in excellent vintage condition. There is a small ding at the top (please see pictures). The wood is unknown and it appears light in color on the back. This beautiful piece was found in a warehouse in Forbach, France in 2019 and had an Oleograph framed in it at that time.
The measurements are approximate are 47.5"L x 36"W(the outside of frame) 40"L x 28.75"W (interior of frame).
