Gardner® 6245-GA Aluma-Kote™ Fibered Aluminum Mobile Home Roof Coating, 4.75 Gal

Aluma-Kote™ Fibered Aluminum Roof Coating is an economy fibered, reflective aluminum roof coating that protects and renews worn roof surfaces. Apply across the surface of the roof to form a layer of protection that helps reflect the sun’s rays. Periodic application of this product is recommended to maintain and prolong the life of your roof. Dries to an aluminum/silver colored finish, and is water clean-up.This product is not recommended for use on wood, asphalt shingles or dead flat roofs with slopes less than 5 degrees (or 1/8" per ft.). Standing water dulls aluminum, and may cause adhesion failure between the coating and substrate. Avoid foot traffic for longest life.

Preparation:

• All surfaces should be dry, clean, smooth, and in good repair. Surface temperatures should be a minimum of 60°F and rising, not to exceed 110°F. Repair all leaks and problem areas with Leak Stopper Roof Patch and reinforce with fabric. Look for specific patching instructions on the repair patch container. When applying this product to a previously coated asphalt surface, allow the surface to cure fully before applying.

For best results:

• Do not thin. Stir contents well, before and during use as required. Aluminum pigment and fibers will settle to the bottom, so a thorough mixing is necessary to re-disperse these components prior to use. A power drill mixer can be helpful to mix product faster.

Application:

• For exterior use only. Mix coating and apply evenly by heavy nap paint roller to the roof. Spread in both horizontal and vertical directions, overlapping ends of strokes. Avoid excessive build-up or puddling. Avoid scraping into existing roof surface. All finish strokes should be made in the same direction. DO NOT APPLY IF RAIN IS EXPECTED WITHIN 24-36 HOURS.

Coverage rates:

• All rates are approximate. Built-up (roll roofing) 1 gal. per 50 sq. ft.; Smooth surface and Metal Roofing - 1 gal. per 75 sq. ft. Avoid foot traffic once applied. Two coats recommended for longest life.

Note:

• This product is not recommended for use on wood, asphalt shingles or dead flat roofs with slopes less than 5 degrees (or 1/8” per ft.). Standing water dulls aluminum, and may cause adhesion failure between the coating and substrate. Avoid foot traffic for longest life. When buying multiple containers, it is recommended to match the batch codes on the lids to avoid shade variances.

Clean-up:

• Clean tools immediately with soap and water, or on dried product use citrus solvent or mineral spirits.
