Antique French Brass Altar Crucifix – “DÉPOSÉ No.45”

This stunning antique French altar crucifix is a beautifully detailed example of late 19th to early 20th century craftsmanship. Standing about 22inches tall and roughly 10 inches wide, it features an ornate Baroque-style base with scrollwork and shell motifs, rising to a finely cast crucifix. The base and cross are made of solid brass with a rich, naturally aged patina that highlights the depth of its design. The back of the cross is marked DÉPOSÉ and No.45, suggesting French origin and casting authenticity. The underside shows signs of hand-finishing and old solder seams, consistent with age and traditional foundry work.
